I have a scooter that my father built for my sister, best guess was about 55-60 years ago. The wheel are home cast Al. with tire material from high wheel by-cycles ( cab tire?). Recall a wagon with the same wheel and tire, Frame was welded I think using Oxy Actelyne?
Dad worked in the cotton mill shop, then paper mill, then paper cup plant machine shop. Also he was instructor for machine shop during WWII, said vital trade exemption from the draft.
So they had to do alot of fab work repairing the machines. He said the cup machines were designed in house so no off the shelf parts, and long lead to get replacement parts, casting and machining, welding, babbit bearings cast in place.
Got the frame being powder-coated and the wheels are cleaned up to be sent for the tire replacement. Will be replacing the bearings, and handle.

This will be for grand daughter that is 2 1/2 yr old.
more to come........
