have been searching Craigslist and Kijiji (Canadian) for a drill press since my cheapo china drill press broke. heres what i picked up today.
Atlas 1010... for $50!!! with a table too!!! and this is the cool part. It belonged to Canadian F1 driver Eppie Wietzes! Unfortunatly i didnt get to meet him, (one of his employees sold it for him). From what the employee told me, it was in his personal shop. he didnt use that much, so he brought it to his Toyota dealership for use in the shop. they never used it, so put it up for sale. I was the lucky one who got there first!
I think it is from 1954... (there is 54-1 stamped on the main part.)
serial number plate is upside down (looks like ther are the original rivits). also the 54-1 is visible at the bottom
This is also my first "tool" purchase inspired by this forum.
