Went junk store shopping today and found this nice 8mm movie camera light. These have a camera bracket screw on the bottom of the handle which means you can screw them to anything with a hole in it, and they are like a billion candlepower bulb. I scored this one for 3 dollars. I had to polish the reflector on it as it was nasty and corroded, but for 3 bucks you cant go wrong.

I also got a steel medicine cabinet that just so happens to fit perfectly between the uprights on my mil surplus shelving system, so it will get mounted to the end of my shelving later this week. I will post pics when I mount it, but I plan to make a quick disconnect pin to mount it using all thread and some washers. Might be worthwhile to someone who has this style shelving.

WOW! havnt seen one of those in a long time!

My father brought one back from Tuscon when he was in the AF in the 60s. They used to do a lot of movie making in the area I guess. I used to clamp it to the gutter of my parents house to light the driveway so I could work on cars at night in high school. It was called the sun gun . Thanks for the memories and good luck with it.

Yeah you can screw these to a welding clamp and rotate the head where you want it, great workstation light. They do get hot as all hell though.

LOL, you aren't far off, the reflector and heat sink is one solid chunk of aluminum, when the bulb heats up it puts out quite a lot of radiant heat. the plastic portions of it are bakelite though, they hold up well to the heat.
