Scored me a Nugier press

I scored a Nugier H25-7 air over hydraulic 25 ton press for $150. This is one heavy duty sucker. It almost killed me to unload this beast by myself. I shouldn't need much to get it pumping. The air part moves the ram but the hand pump doesn't build pressure. It seems as though it needs a cup in the pump or something. Anybody out there have one of these? An owners manual and a parts list would be great. Time for some cleanup and paint.

I don't have one, but you deserve a YOU ****! Awesome score on the press! Hiball is the hydraulics expert around here. Take some detailed pictures of the ram and any markings on it. You might try a PM to him.

I've been looking for a 20-ton press to put my air over hydraulic jack into...so, I have to say, "You ****." That is a magnificent press. I hope everything goes well in getting it working.

I hope it is easy to get going. It looks like Nugier is stilll in business. I e-mailed them and they haven't got back to me. I guess its time to use the phone. Its all taken apart and ready for cleaning and paint but if I can't get seals for the pump I don't know what I'll do. It seems like blasphemy to mount Harbor Freight hydraulics on such a nice piece of American (So Cal:thumbup:) iron.

Sandy, did you know that your website shows a different phone number? I couldn't reach anyone at that number (310-515-6075). It turns out the press I have is not not a normal H25-7. Hector at Nugier has been a lot of help. He is going to ask one of the oldtimers at the shop if they remember the style I have. I hope I don't need much to get it going. Here it is so far.

EDIT: I guess I called on Friday. They're only open M-Th. My bad.

Well I got the pump rebuilt and mounted but the ram wasn't holding pressure. So I took the ram apart and the main seal had turned to dust. I guess it is to be expected on something that is at least 35 years old. New seal kit is on the way and it should be good for another 35 years. Ill take some pictures when I get done.

Well I finally got it done. As usual with my projects it went a little over budget:sad:. I paid Nugier to rebuild the pump because somebody was inside it before I got it and they don't have any diagrams for this style of pump. With no way to know if I was putting it together right I thought this was the way to go. I rebuilt the ram and it holds pressure. Its not a true air over hydraulic its a hydraulic with an air blow down valve. It works great, blows down to the work then you pump to build pressure. Here are some pics.

I was all out of walnuts. All I have left is pecans. It destroys pecans. Who would have thought there was so much liquid in them.
