Scored some nice stuff this past weekend

I had the opportunity to rummage through an old auto repair shop this past Sunday. I couldn't believe the amount of stuff they had and it was ALL Snap-on, Mac, SK, Williams, New Britain etc. Every name brand imaginable. I only had a few hours and this is all I was able to buy. I am going to head back a few more times to go through it thoroughly.

The tubs of tools I grabbed for $100 each. ALL Snap-On, Mac, older Craftsman, etc. The tub with the hammers I was able to make several complete sets of. I haven't gone through any of the others yet. The other tubs are filled with chisels and punches, again all name brand, and the other is all ratchets, sockets, specialty sockets, extensions etc. ALL Snap-on.

The Wolf's head can I got thrown in the deal and the AC Delco cabinet I got for $150. Just needs to be cleaned up.

Here's some more ****...The muffler gasket board I got for $10, and the other pile I grabbed for $50. The Alemite case has grease fittings but I just liked the case. The red Snap On box opens up and has a sliding top inside. I can't wait to go back.

I'd appreciate any comments on approximate values on some stuff like the cabinet, vise, small tool box etc. I need to flip some of this to support my habit:D

I'm not seeing much snap-on in that hand-tool tub. A few sockets maybe. I was freaking out when I was reading your text, because if you got that whole tub and it was all SO/Mac/Matco, that would be the grab of the year!

Your little red SO box is cool. I have the same one but mine is in rougher shape. i saw one on ebay, I believe it went for about $50. When I got mine it was filled with 1/4 stuff and small screw drivers.

Love the wolfs head trashcan. Pretty cool.

The delco cabinet is worth about what you paid, maybe a little more if there are pull out drawers. It's a later version based on the handles. The bottom doesn't have the feet that raise it off the floor.

The can is a good find, maybe about 65-75 to the right person. It has a good look to it and would fit in a yuppie man cave.

The Dorman parts box is very cool. I'd guess 100-125.

I just finished going through the punches, drift pins and chisels. I made a nice set of New Britains and Protos for me and my son. The rest are all SO, MAC, MATCO, and some miscellaneous SK Wayne, Williams, KAL, OTC. Alot of grease on these tools and some have surface rust. I am soaking them in degreaser overnight tonight and then I will soak them in CLR or an equivalent.

I just started the hand tool bin. It is LOADED with Snap On. Trust me:thumbup: I will post pics of that bin tomorrow. Here's a few of the punches/drift pins/chisels and I found that huge Sioux sander in the bottom of the bin. I said a prayer and plugged it in and it works. HA!
The punches are as follows from left to right: Mixed lot of SK Wayne, Williams, and other USA older brands, then Snappy, MAC, MATCO, New Britain, Craftsman, and Proto.

It was an older business and the owner passed away some time back. The daughter is moving and now has the burden of getting rid of this stuff.

Michael _In_DE...I went through the sockets, ratchets etc today. Plenty of Snap-On. A handful of sockets even have the first SO logo on them. Not sure of the age but I'd say they are old. Next I have to organize them.

Nice buys! - you can likely sell the Wilton and cover most or all of what you spent. Let me know if you are interested in selling or trading for the small Snap On box.

What do you think the Wilton is worth cleaned up? It's covered in grease. I wiped some away and it looks like it's gray in color and in nice shape. I will PM you about the SO box.

Great finds I see some SK ratchets in the tote a Roto head and a tuff 1 that's almost paid for that tote also see a few Wright ratchets and such you've doubled your money counting the SK and I see snap on sockets in there you definitely made off like a bandit, I love finding stupid people selling tools I've bought alot of Snap on off idiots for pennies, even my local pawn shop has stupid workers who price things too low I go straight for them every time just bought a pile of Snap on,wright,Matco impact sockets and some other tools including a mini sledge for $3 lol.
Also bought a Snap on 3/8 Mg325 impact for $100 ,a Mg725 for $100 like new and a Mac 1/2 Awp050 for $120 ,and a Mac cut off tool for $30 and a Snap on Ph3050b air hammer in green for $150 new all that for the price of an Mg725 new all priced by the same lady I'd never buy an air tool new off the truck can't imagine what the guys got for pawning these tools.

Ok here's just the ratchets, t handles and breaker bars.
I've never heard on Wright before but there's quite a few as well as a nice New Britain and SK collection. Also a few stragglers such as Napa, Blackhawk, KAL, Proto, Williams, Craftsman, Indestro, and one Matco.

Wow what a haul! I can't believe all the Wright offsets.

FYI-I have been getting inquiries about selling stuff. I don't want to turn this into a for sale thread but everything is up for grabs(unless it's something I decided to keep of course). I more or less am bragging about the haul I managed to get because I myself am still in shock and can't wait to go back. Please PM or email me at [email protected] if you are interested in anything. Thanks.

Anyone have any ideas what the Wilton would be worth all cleaned up (not restored)? It's in perfect working order, just greasy/dirty. It even has the jaw protectors.

I just sold the exact same vise for $500 a few weeks ago

Not saying it’s worth anywhere near that. But that’s what someone paid me for it.

I bought some hammers and punches and after getting the products I feel like I got a great deal. Just got them yesterday and they were packaged and wrapped and to me within 4 days!!! NYBODYMAN is the deal!

I'd love to keep this one but I have that nice one you sold me. Did you sell it on Craigslist? I really have no use for it.

The stainless ratchet is the one with the black rubber on the handle, in the bottom of the tub top view.

It should say stainless on the handle.

You realize you've touched all the GJ buttons now, correct?

Used, great deal at sale. Check.

Old Snap-On, Craftsman and other great USA tools, CHEAP, check.

Wilton vise. Check.

And now a lot of Peterson vise-grips.

You're going to give these guys a stroke.
