I was at a penn power plant. They were closing down the plant so everything was pretty much going in the trash. The workers were not allowed to keep anything and the company was writing everything off as a loss and told the workers to pitch it all. Anything from stainless steel tubing to file folders. I saw these all in the scrap bin and asked the guys about it. They said that to there knowledge there was nothing wrong with any of them, they just had to scrap them due to company policy.

I think I did pretty well. I grabbed all this stuff, asked the guys about taking them and they said "hey its in the trash right...take what you want"

I got these 3 regulators, the torch, and not pictured is a set of ear protectors that attach to my hard hat. ALL FREEEEE!!!!! How'd I do???

I'm personally not enthusiastic about using cast-off gas welding equipment. I buy all mine new.

I won't pass up Harris gauges, there is a certified rebuilder local. Having them checked out and possibly rebuilt will still be cheaper then new.

I already have gauges on my torches but hey can't have to many.

That is pretty good, do you deal with lefeld welding? They are a great place for having things like that rebuilt.

I was once employed at an electronics place and the owner threw away a bunch of expensive test equipment and even development systems, and wouldn't give them to me, just like what you're describing.
