Getting this project going this week, see if I survive. All stuff that came out of m reclaimed pile
8” tall 3/8” beams with a 5.5 web. Uprights mostly came out of a closed down sports authority with the light poles I got for free
80’ of loft,’7’ wide to make a free standing setup. Gonna do 2x8 flooring on 12” centers blocked on the face inside beams so they can’t move.
2” roof deck covered by 3/4” plywood for flooring. Supports at 13’ spacing.

Sadly that’s the truth. My 9 cat lives have well been used up
You get resets every time you bring back old iron from the dead. So at my count, you can kill yourself at least 50 times before you actually die.

Ooooo... Tin on the *bottom* of the loft... Fancy!

Oh yeah... You're gonna get kilt when that collapses on you. Not due to structural issues, but a "Killdozer" incident with one of the sneaky pieces of equipment hovering around it. I see them looking! :D

It does look nice and probably left over metal from elsewhere on the build out.

What is the height under the loft ?

Well the sidewall tin and all that tin is the neighbors roof that insurance replaced due to hail damage, so it’s a tad beat up, but this is a working shop’
7’2” under loft.

Motivation for that second floor loft room I hope to put in one day in my garage. Reason I increased the rafter height to 18" in the design...
