If your OS is Win XP and you have the original install disc, boot from the CD (you can change your bios settings to make this happen if they aren't set to do that already), and install the Recovery Console. Then run Chkdsk from the Recovery Console command prompt. JR

Less expensive than the HD version. No idea how well it works, if at all, but it'd be a cheaper experiment if you were inclined to try one and let us know. :)
