I have a Mac MR5 that I got in a trade a while back, and it's missing one of the screws that holds the cover plate on. Anyone know where I can get a replacement?

Well, I could try. But the hardware stores around here never restock anything. I was looking for screws to fit a vibratory tumbler just yesterday and they were out of every size I needed.

And Lowes is even worse...

I know what you mean. I lost one of the cover screws on my 3/8" drive proto big dawg. I went to get a replacement at my local HW store and couldn't find anything smaller than 4-40 thread.
My thread gauge doesn't go small enough to measure it. I would like to order the correct screw from Mcmaster and pick it up at will call.

I sent Stanley/Proto a couple emails requesting the specs and got no answer.

try a hobby store. smaller fasters are more common on remote control planes and cars.i have not tried it yet but it makes sense. if i am correct it is a number 3 but don't recall the thread count.
