Another of my estate sale finds from over the weekend, got it for $20. It's a Seattle Chain Mfg. 1/2 ton "Screw Geared Block". I thought it said a 1 ton but after a little cleaning it's a 1/2 ton. it seems to work but I'm going to take it apart and figure out what kind of lubrication it uses and clean it up. 1/2 ton is good for about 98% of the stuff I will use it for, but 1 ton would have been better. I'll try to post some better, complete pictures of it if anyone is interested.

I've got this thing working and cleaned up now. Going to paint it tomorrow and put it back together ( and post better pictures ). One thing I'm wondering is what sort of lube to use. I think it just takes grease, there weren't any gaskets on it when i took it apart and had what looks to have might of been grease at one time in it. Google basically turned up nothing, anyone know for sure?
