Could someone tell me if this old Screw Jack says "Onion?" If so, how old is it? Also, is this old clamp for a muffler? Thanks.

I don’t see anything like lettering for “onion”.

I do see lettering “5 inch” which I suppose refers to the distance from fully down to the maximum safe extension of the screw. With that angle drive, it’s a very cool little jack. 🍻

Crank it up to full height, subtract the zero height, that will probably answer the #.

And if it’s union or onion, they are horrible spellers.

I took another look at the Jack this morning. When I turned it on the other side it has the name "Shelley." Turns out it's a British Jack.
