screw length - never considered this

I'm building a corner shelf out of 3/4 melamine for the house. I have a 45 degree bevel cut on the front edge of the two vertical panels. Knowing I have two 3/4 pieces of material, I get ready to use the 1-1/4" Kreg screws. Something caused me to pause, thankfully. Because of the bevel, there is not as much material for the screw to go through, which means I really need a 1" screw.

Thankfully I paused to consider this before driving a bunch of screws into the face frame.

Screw length here is generally measured in minutes, not inches... Too bad both are too short.
