My ceiling trusses are spaced 8' apart, do I need additional spacing between to mount an interior metal liner that will also have insulation on top of it?

Also, how many screws per 3' width when it does get attached? Thanks

Not sure what you mean with the spacing question. I do know the metal liner I put in had 4' attachment requirements with 10" of blow in insulation on top. Fastening of the panels was 8" spacing with supports every 4'.

You would also need to know what your trusses were designed for some are not designed to allow a ceiling load.

Edit: Reread your question, I went to the manufacturers website to get their fastening requirements. Here is one manufacturers PDF.

I put screws in every flat section of the steel, so 4 per 3 ft section. My trusses were on 4' centers, so not sure how 8' will work, but I did R13, with the trusses, then R25 the other way, and it's been holding up ok.
