Screwdriver Bit Holder

I'm in the process of setting up my new toolbox. Nothing goes in until it has a permanent home. I needed a bit holder to finish off my screwdriver drawer, but I couldn't find anything that really suited my needs, so I made my own.

It started as a piece of 3/4"X0.065" Aluminum square tube. I laid out the bit locations, drilled the holes (with the Craftsman 150 I just picked up for $100 ), deburred, hit it with scotchbrite, added some magnetic tape on the inside, and made a place for it all in the drawer.

Mine arnt that nice. But i drilled a bunch of holes into a section of 1/2" MDF, works good.

Need to drill new holes for my new gearwrench bits from the set

The stock tube aluminum idea is nice. Gives me some ideas. If you where to hold it upside down would the bits and drivers still hold in place with that thin magnet?

I would make up another one while you're still in organization mode.

Either willfully or circumstantially, you WILL accumulate more bits. And without a ready home for them to go into they will end up rolling around somewhere until you "get around to it."

I've got whole bunch 1/4" and 5/16" Apex bits, MDF is cheap and easy.

The mcmaster ones saves allot more room being closely packed.

I bought the McMaster ones from Lowe's. Well, sort of. They were clearing out the Skil 32 bit set for $4. Bought 2.
