Screwdriver/Impact Bit set

Currently have a cheap Dewalt set that is in need of a upgrade, plus I need hex bits. Any suggestions? These will be used with both impact and a normal screwdriver. My closest option seems to be http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002S0O7W2/?tag=atomicindus08-20

What's wrong with the dewalt stuff? I would get a set for each, the normal screwdriver the Wiha stuff would be good but for an impact driver I'd want impact bits (like the kits dewalt sells).

For teh philips , I'd go Milwaukee brand Shockwave bits. They are not expensive, work well, have a long life and available at most hardware stores or chains like Lowes and HD.

For the hex, I'd go Wiha, but the Wihas are not cheap and unless you buy in bulk will suffer the lack of a local place to source them.

I've used Wiha's daily at a mfg. level with no problems and they hold up very well. The price on them is never friendly though.

Another vote for Milwaukee Shockwave.

Some of the longer phillips tips wear out somewhat quick, but they don't shatter, so I guess that's a tradeoff... I've had mine for a while and they work great.
They were recommended to me by a carpenter who uses them day in and day out, he said they would outlast dewalt bits 5 to 1 in his experience.

im for the milwaukees also, i have both the m's and the dewalts, i always reach for my milkwaukee sho\ckwaves, you can get them at HD and they work great with an impact.

Thanks for the advice guys. I just bought the WIHA hex bit kit and will drop by HD to look at the shockwaves!

SO offers a lifetime warranty on hex/impact bits iirc.

CM doesn't.

Suppose the easiest q would be who else offers a lifetime warranty on hex/impact bits?

I'm tired of buying bits.... esp when I don't loose 'em!!

If you want really good impact rated bits, the milwaukee shockwave are a big step up form dewalt. They are the best consumer level impact bits out there and easy to get. But for the upper level wiha and wera impaktors are better. But they are more money as well.

I have dewalt impact and milwaukee sw bits, the milwaukee is beter.

I never break bits, and tend to use the cheap ones anytime a job looks tough so I don't risk some expensive Wera etc. bit.
