Screwdriver kit recommendations?

I'm looking for a set of regular hand held screwdrivers, maybe 10-12 drivers of assorted lengths of phillips and slotted. Just high quality regular screwdrivers, maybe 4-8 inches long, in a nice case (not brittle plastic) or a roll up pouch. Looked online and haven't found anything like that of good quality. There are sets in brittle plastic cases, there are sets in form fitting vacu formed trays, there are loose sets, and there are insulated electrician sets, but after a half hour looking I didn't find what I wanted.

Does anyone have a set like that they might recommend?

although you may have to buy the roll up pouch separately, there are tons of quality sets out there. :wtf:

However, before I could recommend a specific set, how much do you want to spend? do you want US made only? Hard or soft grips? Round handles or trilobal? a certain Handle color? Round blades or hex shapes blades? Bolstered?
Flat tip and phillips or torx & posidrive?

Generally speaking for starters , take a look at the PROTO Duratek screwdriver sets and pick up a tool roll to hold them.

Thanks for the reply.

I prefer something not Chinese and good quality but they don't have to be balls out best. Be nice to buy from a manufacturer that might have replacements if one was lost or damaged. Don't really want to spend $200 for a 9-piece set but $100 +/- is in the ball park. Hard or soft grips, handle style, don't care. No need for bolstering. Slotted and Phillips only, not torx or posidrive. I'm not a fan of multibit drivers with fat shanks. This kit is for a quick grab and go toolbox I'm putting together for home repair work to help (and hopefully teach) inlaws and friends who can't operate a screwdriver and who call me to help.

I'll check out the Proto Duratek, thanks. I figured it would be a piece of cake to find good quality set with a decent ready to go case but apparently not. Amazon had page after page of small precision kits, have plenty of wiha and that's not what I need here. Looked at a few other places online, never heard of 99% of the brands out there. Xcelite (sp?) came the closest to having something but their kits always seemed to include tools I don't want.

Can I try?

Vessel will occasionally release 10-piece sets of their various drivers in storage cases. The only one listed at the moment is a non-slip set.

https://www.vesseltools.com/handtools/screwdrivers/screwdriversets/300-kit-10-detail

A quick search on eBay showed availability of their cushion grip set with a storage case. I recall seeing the Megadora and Dual-tone styles available with a case in the past, so it may be possible to track those down from alternative sources, too.

Vessel drivers are really top-notch. You'll find a lot of love for them here on GJ.

I wouldn't base your decision on the case/pouch. Make a choice between a quality brand like Williams, SK, Proto, Wera, Vessel, Snap On, etc, then create your own storage device. Whether it be a pencil case, a fanny pack, whatever...

In my experiences, cloth and vinyl rolls **** for screwdrivers. It can be difficult to differentiate between sizes/styles and will rip eventually.

I love my new USA made Tekton 26759 ergo grip screwdrivers. Cant speak to the durability yet, but holding up fine so far.

As for a case, better off just finding something universal.

My favorite drivers were the SK hard handles offered in the 1990s that were made in France. I've lost a few over the years, so I decided to buy some Wiha which I don't like at all. I then bought the Witte Maxpros which are now my favorite, maybe even more than those old SKs.

Screwdrivers are a personal preference in a way; what feels good in my hand may not feel good in yours. Any of the USA/German/Swiss/Euro brands mentioned on this forum will work well.

$95.

The only thing that I wish those had were hammer caps :)

I'm looking at this set:

Only 6 drivers, but not bad for $44.

The sets of the regular megadora are cheaper and really nice. They have a few sets to choose from and are great JIS options.
