I just have two drawers in a rollaway. One for Phillips and the other for straight. In the little drawers above I keep screwdriver-like things like nut drivers or Torx screwdrivers.

I wonder about people who have "perfect" tool chest drawers.

All screwdrivers are in one drawer. Regular, flat screwdrivers have their handles on the left, Philips have their handles on the right.

I would rather spend time organizing then spend time searching for what I need. I want the tool to be in the exact same spot every time and I like to put my tools away while I'm working, not at the end of a project or the end of the day.

I personally love having my tools laid down flat and organized but I feel if you do this you should maximize the space as best as you can. Instead of cutting out foam for each indivuidal tool I butted them all together and traced the foam around all the screwdrives handels as one piece. You can still see if a tool is missing and they are still nice and tight. I did the same thing with my sockets. Those plasic organizers take up to much space in my opinion.

I picked up a HF bar magnet and dropped it into the bottom of the drawer. Then I put screwdrivers on each side. There's enough room in the drawer for two of the magnets. Standard on the left, phillips on the right, strange stuff (torx and combination flat/standard) in the middle.

I tried slot and hole organizers and went with the magnetic bar for a while but got sick of all the **** that my screwdrivers were picking up when magnetized, plus I liked the idea of having my tools put away.

I went back to a dedicated screwdriver drawer.

Philips on the left with the handles to the left.
Slotted on the right with the handles to the right.
Stubbies in the middle with philips in the front and slot in the back.

Works good for me...

In my 40" botom box, it has large drawers and smaller drawers. Phillips gets one drawer while slotted go in one below. That's as far as they get in my box.

One way I have found that is very easy. Is go get a 1 1/2 inch chanel iron or alum and and drill holes for each driver. I spaced them about an 1 1/4 inch apart and have one for my nut drivers and one for my screw drivers. You can mount the chanel to any flat surface like a tool box with rivets or go get some real powerful magnets.

My next step is to get some 16 ga steel and bend it about 3 1/2 inches long so I can have my nut drivers in the back and my screw drivers in the front. When I am done with that I will post photos if anyone cares to see it

Check out skyway tools. I just got some 12 driver ernst racks for 5.99 each. So far so good. I got 4. I for phillips, flat, nut drivers, and star. Ships pretty fast too.
