So I have been looking at getting a new set of drivers and have a few questions and also looking for recommendations.

Here is what I want.

1. Hollow ground flat screwdrivers for gun work
2. JIS or compatible Phillips set.

I already have several sets of screwdrivers, but none that seem to work very good for both gunsmithing work, or when working on my old 4 wheeler or dirt bike or even some of the chainsaws I have been messing with.

I am a little confused about JIS drivers and how they arent a thing anymore, but does that mean all Phillips drivers are JIS compatible or is there a subset of Phillip's that work with JIS?

If there was a single set that met both of my needs, that would be ideal.

Thanks guys.

Vessel Megadora for cross
PB Swiss for slotted

Done.

Seriously though, there are literally dozens of threads on this subject, and JIS vs DIN 6250

Vessel are the only JIS screwdrivers worth buying. Yes, They are still very much a thing for working on Japanese motorcycles and JP some cars.

The problem with screwdrivers for firearms is that there is a huge variety of screw head sizes. And generally if you mar the screw head it is very visible. For me, the best thing I’ve found is the magna-tip sets from Brownells. You get a huge number of bits of different sizes but you don’t have to buy that many screwdrivers.
