I just line them up in the drawer but after time they get all bunched up. I've seen guys use a magnetic tool strip that I've been thinking about adding.

I recently bought a new set of Craftsman drivers, ones to keep nice and clean for interior work on my cars.

Here is my solution... a dado blade in the saw and some scrap oak.

I've done several things like Mike14K's wood solution, for my extensions and so forth. For the screwdrivers, I would do the same thing except that I had a couple extra wrench rails [the red plastic ones like SnapOn and Ernst sell] and I use them to hold the screwdrivers.

I use the top drawers of my bottom box. Puts them at ~waist height, comfortable for something that I use all the time. The drawers in my bottom box are really shallow, which is nice. I just line them up lengthwise in the drawer. The trick is to pack them in so tight so that they don't move when you open the drawer. Caution you may need to buy a few more screwdrivers to get the proper package tightness

If I only had a few screwdrivers or a bunch of long one the side of the tool box vertical hanger is nice. For the home shop where space is a premium, it is kind of a pain to add width to a box though IMHO.

I wouldn't think it would rust, I used to make oak boxes without lids to hold the machinist tools like vee blocks that I made myself. These would rust if I drank Mountain Dew and handled them and oak never caused any rust that I saw.

Yep.

Pack 'em in the shortest dwr and handle to handle.
Flip and do the back side of the dwr the same for the less used drivers thus doubling your storage space.

Did you want horz. or vertical? Inside of a toolbox or outside?

Side mounted screwdriver boxes are nice but you run out of room fast. i find them much better for pry bars.

If not storing in a tool box then there are infinite solutions.

If in a locked box, height is your enemy. Thus you need to go flat.

Handle to handle is what I use. No rolling around and no movement with a good dwr. liner.

Below is my home old stuff box that keeps the non-used screwdrivers in order that I had growing up (along with other things).
I use Wiha and Facom at home now but I can't part with my old stuff.
Pack 'em and stack 'em. :)

Good luck.

I keep mine in a draw on rubber but they still move around some . I think I am going to try some custom made wood brackets to keep them in place. Similar to Mike14K

I threw my tool box away:bounce::bounce:

Would be nice at home, but put your tools on display like that in a shop and watch how fast those spots empty overnight.

Here is mine, but I have to have them this way for tool accountability and quick inspection.

AGREE 100%
In the plant---they were locked up when I was gone. Not from the 35 other Maint. guys----it was to keep the production and "temps" greedy little fingers out.

Why do you need 20 different ones?
hu6h.jpg

I've got 16 different screwdrivers in my pic above. I could easily add 4 more longer screwdrivers if I had the room. I could also add a set of sae hex which could throw me over 30 handled drivers not counting picks.....

addition

There is also triwing, pozi, dzus, high torqe, non ferrous screwdriver for compass deviation corrections etc etc lol.... I could have a library of "screwdrivers" if I would just set myself free on them

Looks real nice. One thing I don't see is your sockets. How do you store and organize your sockets?

This is homemade also, from an old broken screendoor frame. This is just a fit photo. I still have to build the 1/2" side. Most of my sockets are still on rails.

I use one of these for most of them. The top box in my Kobalt stack has recessed handles that screw in to the sides. I took that off, folded over the top edge of the screwdriver box so it would hang from the handle, drill holes in the screwdriver box to match the handle, and put it all back together. The box completely covers the handle, but I don't pick up the top box anyway.

My main drivers are all lined up in a drawer of my toolbox.
I've got others on a plastic Craftsman rack mounted to the wall.
4 in 1 drivers are a metal stand we made at work with still more in coffee cans.
I made a couple wooden blocks to hold the smallest ones on my bench.
