Screwdrivers and Pool Noodle

Anyone know of a good way to store screwdrivers using pool noodles that you see the kids use when swimming ?
I have had several people say they drill a hole into the noodle and insert the shank in the hole. Only problem I see with that is if the shank does not go all the way through the noodle, you don't have any way of knowing what screwdriver type it is.
Also, how do you go about hanging the noodle once the screwdrivers are in place?

What if you cut the noodle in half and attached it to the wall. Than cut (or melted) in slots that you can pressure fit each handle into. That way everything is exposed and you can see each shank.

Anyhow, pool noodles as a screwdriver holder? New to me, but sounds like an interesting idea.

What about cutting it into quarters? Flat back for easier wall attachment, flat top to hold screwdriver handles flush and steady, and short holding portion to show tips.

I agree. To me, I'd never even consider a pool noodle. A piece of angle iron would do the trick much better.

Pool noodles break down with use, you would have foam bits on a regular basis.

I like the idea of the slotted wood or metal, but I am thinking of making something with a row of the slotted pieces sticking out and angled down to hold a BUNCH of driver type tools, all phillips on one, slotted, torx, pry bars, extensions, etc.
