When you decide you need "GOOD SCREWDRIVERS", and, being a patriot, you want to buy USA stuff...:bowdown:

You could do worse than the Proto Classic Yellow Handle Set---J9600C-19 piece set, or the J9900C-36 piece set...:rocker::rocker:

With all of those, you can do what I do---REALLY SCREW THINGS UP!!!:headscrat:headscrat

IBTL, seriously though if you clicked SEARCH and typed your questions there prior to posting a new thread then you would have at least some information to bring to the table instead of expecting to be spoon fed by the people who search themselves.

If you don't think you NEED something, then your question is already answered, you don't need them.

Can you list a possible use for each and every screwdriver in the picture please? Along with a brief explanation of why I should use that certain one instead of another? I also noted they are hard handles, how do you feel about this? Can these also be used to pry? Should I get a separate pry bar instead? Which pry bar should I get? Is there use in having more then 1 pry bar? How many do you think I will need??? Can I use my new pry bars as chisels???????

ASKJeeves.com - - - - - likely your best bet for future questions.

What is with askjeeves? Are you stuck in 1998?

I just posted your post #34 into Google and guess what I got? Your umpteenth thread. That's the way Google works.

It was a joke.

I have learned far more in this thread about screwdrivers than I would have gotten by searching.

You could do worse than the Proto Classic Yellow Handle Set---J9600C-19 piece set, or the J9900C-36 piece set...:rocker::rocker:

Wow, $99. I will stick either either nothing, or the $8 set from HF.
If those fail me, I will consider going bigger.

If you don't think you NEED something, then your question is already answered, you don't need them.

Good point.

Now you're getting the hang of it!

Since when is asking a question a crime? What happened to "there are no stupid questions?"

I'm going to reveal something that was told to me, since I was not specifically asked to keep it private.

GE has NEVER in his life until recently been around tools; Shocking? To us that grew up around them yes, a bit, unheard of? No. (i.e my brother, hell for all I know this guy IS my brother... :scared: )

None of his friends are tool guys, or even car guys. None work on cars; Everyone he knows is an office worker. You are a product of your environment.

Is he asking a lot of questions? Yes.

Do some of you find his questions frustrating and/or trollish? That answer is clear.

I'm convinced he is not a troll and is as represented. I might be wrong, but I don't think so. If he was, anyone here that really knows me, knows I don't tolerate trolls...

If he is a troll, guess what guys? He's winning! A troll lives on reaction, and you are giving it to him!

If he's not a troll, his questions are legitimate. If they are irksome to you, don't read his threads. Don't respond, just walk away. There is not law you have to read them much less respond.

Frankly some of you could easily be in danger of the mods ban hammer, as one thing the mods here do not tolerate is abuse or disrespect from one member to another.

As was mentioned in another thread: it's xmas cut him (and yourself) some slack

You're either speaking sarcasm, or you're more confused than I am...and that's bad...:wtf::wtf::wtf:

Bubba, I'm entering my 69th year, and I don't have enough time left in the mortal world, to answer all your questions...the gigantic slot head is not a prybar, but it would function as one, if necessary...

I own the 19 piece set, i bought them from Amazon for $ 96.95, and I've used, at least 3/4's of them, so far...I've also discovered, that I NEED the 8 piece Phillips (#00, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, stubby #1, and long #3)...then I can---
COMPLETELY SCREW THINGS UP!!!:scared:

And as my role model, Outlaw, so adroitly stated, there are no stupid questions...

As to why I bought so many screwdrivers...I've been working with junk tools for years, now that I'm retired, I decided that enough was enough...from now on I'm going to have decent tools...not SnapOn, but decent...

He just seems like a younger guy looking to expand his tool collection. Has anyone actually tried the search function on here? Try searching for let's say Mac tools or Mac tool box here. You will come up with every thread ever made with the word tool in it. Cut him some slack. Either give advice or move on. At least it's not another show your unused snap on tools that you polish thread. Because those are informative and helpful.

He just posted a thread titled "tools do I need them?" Because that will be useful. Talk about what color handle snap on screwdrivers you like the best and that's fine. But a guy looking to upgrade his tools and ask a legit question then he gets ****

Is op serious?, you could never have enough extra screwdrivers to have on hand in different locations and always gotta have extra screwdrivers in your vehicle.

The OP is serious, and he is also more than a little bit of a minimalist. For the most part pretty foreign to most on GJ, hence a lot of the hostility.

Definitely a wide range of flats not so much Philips but they will help with routing belt into place pushing pistons in scraping gaskets off really countless uses

Being a minimalist he likely has all of the screwdrivers that he needs for now. As he gains experience working on things he should be able to figure out what he needs as he goes. I'm sure we've all done that with tools.

Research all the sets that everyone sells if Snap-on, Mac, Matco, Proto, Stanley GewrWrench, Craftsman and Harbor Freight all have a 4" #2 Philips and a 4" 1/4" slotted chances are you will need something that size and a bit driver may cover them so pass. Compare all the screw drivers and pick the ones on the ends a bit driver probably wont reach like #0000 2" Phillips in an inch deep hole so you may need that end. A 10" #2 Phillips will fit in a 3" deep hole that the bit driver wont fit and it will fit in a hole 9" deep.

Look at all the tools in a career builder set or set building even craftsman basic mechanic sets see what sockets are there what hammers and additional tools they have then prioritize if you have a bit driver hold off buying screw driver until you come across something the bit driver wont do including hex keys.

Light weekender here.

I have a C-man tool set and it came with assorted screw bits and a bit driver handle. I also have old $1 flatheads, and a $2 stubby Philips. This has worked just fine for me.

The only time my bit driver doesn't work is when there's a deep recessed well and the bit driver shank handle doesn't fit. When this happens, I just use my Phillips stubby.

Should I get this 5-pc Cman set for $5?

Can someone give me a reason to buy this?
Why do people get 17 piece sets?
What is the core set I need?
This one has 0, 1, 2 and micro driver sizes
Is 0, 1, and 2 the most common Phillips sizes in automotive?

Get the 8 peice Pittsburg Pro set for under 10 bucks at Harbor Freight. That should meet all your needs for a long while.
