Anyone used both and have any impressions? I see mixed reviews over the tip performance of the ACR phillips bits of the instincts with some peaople saying the ACR ribs are prone to wearing out fast. The flat blades will probably be abused as chisels/pry tools (hey im being honest). Ergonomically im not a fan of the MaxxPro with the hole in the handle and wondering how well they'd hold up to being beat on with a soft hammer. Basically wondering if they'd collapse around the hole. Lastly how easy do the furry areas of the Witte clean?

I own both I find myself grabbing the snappy more often cause the handles fit my giant hand better and my ocd kicks in when I get my matcos dirty. The flocking on the wittes are a challenge to keep clean but in the same breath when working around atf and coolants that flocking does provide a confident grip. As far as the hole in the handle I've had no issues at all pertaining to them but also never use them outside of hanging them on some pegs.

The witte are a better screwdriver hands down. I buy snapon for most of my stuff, for good screwdrivers I buy the matco witte. I do a little bit of hammering on the back end of the flat heads and they hold up fine as well. Whatever little marks you make will not matter much as matco swaps out the entire screwdriver for warranty (no new blade in old handle.)
I'll add that my most used are #2 & 3 philips, I very rarely cam out. If my witte don't do it, out comes the impact.

Not saying snapon stink but that the witte drivers are better.

I have a set of the Snap On instincts and LOVE them. I also have a Cornwell set and almost always reach for the Snap On. Except when I need a long shank. The 8 piece Cornwell has a couple longer shank drivers instead of stubbies. I never have any cam out or wear issues with the Snap On. I just dont like the "fuzzy" handles of the Matco.
The Snap On handles are so comfortable and great for high tourqe. The best handles ever IMHO, dare I say even better than the classic hard handles.

I own multiple sets of both, and have the same conclusion. Although I think it really comes down to personal preference on the ergonomics in your hand.

Thought this would get a lot more responses, may have to buy a P2 from both and drive some deck screws, see what i like/holds up better.

I have a few instinct handle screwdrivers, they are ok but I prefer the hard handles. I can't say for the matco because I don't buy from them.

As much as I like Snap on I don't care for anything except their hard handles. The soft handles are horrible and the instinct are so so for me. I like the Witte rebranded stuff. When they first came out I thought they looked goofy but after getting some flea market screwdriver's warrantied out from my Matco guy for the Witte ones I really like them. I don't like getting them dirty though.

I bought the green Matco Witte drivers in 2004 when they were on promotion. They work great, but like some other guys said, I hate to get them dirty. I just ended up using my random C-Man and other drivers to avoid this.

Ummm I am just as OCD as any one else on here but you guys do realize there tools and are suposed to get dirty right? I've had the Marco and now have Craftsman Professionals which I think are the same handle as the Snap-On and preferred the Marco although like everyone has said they are hard to keep clean. Cars are greasy, dirty creatures so when you work on one expect it. Worst place is working in a tire shop on a rainy day. Hey we all had to start somewhere.

Soft handles clean well, i've had instinct picks and i like any manner of soft grip ratchets, they all clean with the right solution, dirt isnt a concern. Almost crushed my new techangle last weekend :). Breaking and damage is part of the game.

The matco do get dirty looking quick and the texture part starts to wear off but like I said before, you get a completely new driver when warrantied.

I have both as well (Cornwell not Matco), and the Wittes are better. I clean mine with GOJO wipes, they wipe down well.
