Looking at buying some screw drivers just looking around there's heaps of types of price ranges. Anyone know of some good brands

Try a few different makes for comfort, depends on the size of your hands etc what style handle may be comfortable in use.
I like pear shaped handles like the Stanley/Britool range also Koken, I have some Facom ones which are very nice but not as comfortable in use.
Depends how much use they will get. I have had to peel my fingers off a driver when the cramped up but i do a lot of work in cold environments as do dairy refrigeration.

screwdrivers is all about personal taste. what fits well in your hand and of course what it is for quality. There are lots of threads here about it. Do a search ...

Snap-on's are nice but pricy. Witte's are very nice and more affordable.

Try the Williams sets with the black handles. Available through toolsdelivered or Amazon, at a good price to boot.
There is nothing available, at that price range, that will exceed those screwdrivers in quality. Perhaps a Wera offering might suit you around that price as well, but I find their most basic screwdriver (without the green "grippy" sections) is not much of a joy to use.

Here are the brands I currently use which I have been pleased with:

Felo (Germany)
Wera (Germany/Czech)
I chose those brands because of quality/price/availability.
Probably can't go wrong either with Wiha (Germany), Witte (Germany) or the Pratt-Read (USA) brands. PB Swiss (Switzerland) or Snap-On (USA) are options as well if you have a fat wallet.

Channellock ones can be had cheapish and are very comfy as well.

Im been buying Craftsman pro screw drivers. Really good for the price. Still USA made.

This is like wearing "meat-pants" into a tiger cage.
Determine a budget and then get the best quality for that budget.
I love Facom drivers, as well as Wiha and Wera.
Felo is very capable.
Snap-On if you have the budget and warranty arrangement.
Williams USA is a nice less expensive alternative.
AU and the EU offer many that NA never sees except on special order.

I heard that this Pittsburgh/Harbor Freight set is pretty nice for the price. They are only $12.99 for 22 pieces. Craftsman (non-Pro) ones would be about double that. If you're a casual/home user, they might be OK even if one day they will be relegated to the "catch all drawer" in your house or 2nd box.

I tried the regular range and found them to be excellent for my hands but did not hold up to sustained punishment in a mechanical environment. By accident I moved over to their chiseldrivers range and have been astonished how much punishment they can take. For me they are my ideal screwdrivers but I acknowledge that not everybody appreciates the unusual shape.
