i think i had the snap on soft handles. I might try out the hard handles. Ill look at few brands that yall mentioned before i pull the trigger. Are the cornwells made by witte? they look almost identical to the matco ones, the ones without the bulky handle.

The Cornwells are similar but not the same. The handles have a slightly different shape. The Cornwell are Witte pro tops and the Matco are Witte Maxxpros. Both very high quality.

I am with you all the way on the Williams screwdrivers, but the op wants soft handle screwdrivers. I am sure those fancy German and swiss screwdrivers are top notch but I am also with you on getting them replaced, I bet it is a hard as hell and just not worth it.:(

You can get individual Weras on Amazon for pretty cheap.

I don't know that I would worry about warranties on an item that runs 5 or 6 bucks.

I have the Williams and they are very comfortable hard handles. They fit screws well. Durable? Not so much. Had a #3 phillips tip shear completely while using the built-in wrench boss. A flat head tip broke in half trying to turn a screw without wrench assistance. They are brittle. Hard as hell, but brittle. Cue the snap on apologists.

There's only one brand I've used that I have literally never broken one, or even seen one break: Klein. I've put a lot of hours in using them. The Williams fit screws better, but the Kleins do not break. For me, they are the best.

The previous generation were made by Witte. The current generation like in the picture above is made by a mystery manufacturer we don't know about yet.

Look at Williams for hard handles they are the same as snap on.

Obviously they're not, otherwise they would've easily replaced that slotted driver that guy on here had a problem with. This is from my memory but I recall it being williams and I recall them launching an internet psychic investigation about it but not actually fixing the problem or offering a viable replacement.:D

I was laughing but dude was without a common size slotted for at least 2 weeks without a solution. He was pretty sad about it too.

I have Craftsman, Craftsman Professional, Wiha and Wera (Kraftform). Never touched a Felo in my life. When I grab a screwdriver, it is Wera 95% of the time; the other 5% is grabbing a Craftsman stubby since I don't have Wera stubbies. I never use the Wihas or any of my other Craftsmans. For a few bucks more you can get the yellow handled Kraftform chiseldrivers which I also recommend. Or get both!

Let me add that aesthetically, Wera's look pretty modern - unlike the old standard Craftsman, these are screwdrivers for the 21st century!

As others have said, ultimately it boils down to ergonomics and what fits most comfortably into the user's hand. Wera, Wiha and Felo are all high quality screwdrivers, and you probably cannot go wrong with any of them.

Cornwell has those super square handle ones and the witte branded ones. I've been thinking about getting the Witte ones but the big set is very expensive oddly.
