You could buy one of each in your most used size and try them. The handles are very different so you will most likely prefer one over the other.

Tekton make very nice screwdrivers, and in the USA. I have a T27 I use on my small engines from them, the triangle design works wonders for better grip. Also, the tip doesnt wear out after one use, like what happened on some others I had. Definitley reccomend the Tektons.

I too like the handle, almost as much as the Snap-on Instinct. I particularly like the Torx drivers and wish they made them in a wider size range. The tips are not as strong as Snap-on or Wiha but they are better than WF Craftsman and carry one of the best warranties in tools.

Any decent brand will get ya done. Screwdrivers are consumables anyway, get what you like...

I have the snap-on version of the Williams you are looking at, I like them fine.

I will say the tekton handles look really nice, almost tempting. I have mixed feeling about the tekton hex bit sockets I have. they seem ok, but the first one I pulled out to check it out, the socket fell right off. They had not tightened down any of the bits. Not a deal breaker but I was disappointed in their QC.

But I will say the tekton version is missing the hex on the shank that the Williams has. I have only had to use it once, but it was incredibly handy to have when I needed it.

The only bad reviews on Amazon seem to be for the bit sockets. That’s unfortunate since most of the rest of their stuff is great for the price. Capri or VIM seems to be the better bet for good value in bit sockets.

Looked on Amazon, the Tekton 12pc is 20 bucks, 147 reviews totaling 4.5 out of 5 star.
For a made in USA screwdriver set at that price, you can’t beat it.

If you are bent on getting something with the old hard handle Snap on handle design, then go with Williams. Otherwise, the Tekton USA made screwdrivers seem to be decent. I bought their torx drivers and I actually liked the handles after some initial misgivings. As for the quality of the tips, I haven't used them enough to come to a conclusion.

I’ve seen a lot of threads on here and this may be the first time this has ever happened. The OP asked about two specific brands of screwdrivers, the Williams and the TEKTON brands, and no posts about Pittsburgh Pro, Snap-on, Wera, Wiha, Matco, Mac, Carlyle or Witte.

I so proud of everyone!

Of the two I like the TEKTON’s, but both are nice.

I have both of those sets and prefer the handle ergonomics of Tekton (can get more leverage). Tekton is more prone to rust, but wiping it down with some balistol or equivalent every now and then should alleviate any issues.

We got a new Rural King in town and they carry a little Tekon. I looked at the screwdrivers and they felt good in my hand.

I got a Williams set a few years ago. Great drivers. After using them for a while I filled in with some singles for the ones the set didn’t include that I needed. When I was looking for the singles though, they weren’t as easy to find as you’d think... but that was a while back.

Those Williams will likely last longer.... but I consider a screwdriver a consumable.

I really like the feel of my Tektons so far, durability is still out for debate tho. And for $20, its so easy to pull the trigger.
