Hi guys this is my first tread.I have just built a new 28x30 shop.I am covering the inside walls with OSB.Was just looking for some advice on which screws to use.Drywall screws are about $3 a pound cheaper then yellow coloured wood screws.The only thing I am worried about is the drywall screws rusting.The wood will be painted so that will help.Just asking to see if anyone else has had this proplem.Thanks

Drywall screws should still have a coating on them, and if its inside you should have no problems at all

I bought the stainless steel screws for my outside OSB because they should resist rust better. All the screws I've seen have some kind of coating, so they are likely just as good or better an non-coated nails that are commonly used.

Dry wall screws are meant to be used primarily on walls and ceilings within the living space. Temp and humidity are controlled. If you've ever seen a house that has flooded or had a fire that was put out by water, the screws are rusted.

I used regular ol' drywall screws. 2 years so far and no issues. They are all painted over.

Well if your screws aren't rusting in Olympia, they passed the test!
