Scroll saw blades?

Just picked up a cheap HF scroll saw......I know what you gonna say JUNK but I'm a beginner so probably ok for now. Anyway I thought it might help to at least buy good blades.

Recommendations......

I get scroll saw blades at the local Ace Hardware. There are a ton of different types depending on what you are cutting.
I have no problem with buying a scroll saw from HF, you have to start somewhere. If one day you find that you are a master scroll saw craftsman and that you use it frequently then maybe you can get a Hegner. Until then, happy scrolling!

Bosch should work pretty decently. Could go for something a bit better like maybe Olson, but for easily-available stuff, I love Bosch blades and drill bits.

Most important thing is buying the right TYPE of blade for the job at hand, though.

I'm not a good person to explain them in that much detail. Scroll saws (and, similarly, jigsaws) are things that I only use once in a great while.

I looked through a few Youtube videos to find one that looked decent for this, and here it is:

. I had nothing to do with producing that video, but it is pretty detailed. There are additional videos from the same guy - look to the suggested videos at the right. Anything I could possibly teach you about scroll saws, this guy could teach a heck of a lot better.

Thanks guys......good info. I'm going to use it to make a template for parts for an Adirondack chair. I'm prob going to use a jigsaw for actual cuts.
