Has anyone here used 4" SDR 35 sewer pipe for drainage under a dirt or asphalt milling driveway? I'm having stormwater drainage issues and I need to run a couple drainage pipes under my driveway. I was initially going to use the black corrugated stuff but I figured I'd be better off with pvc with its smoothness and strength. I'm trying keep costs at a minimum hence the use of SDR 35 and not schedule 40. I think it'll probably get buried about 8" down.

Have you used it? Will it bare the weigh of vehicles driving over it? Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

I'm familiar with its use on some government projects I've worked on. It's very tough and if it's only 4" I think you'll be fine at 8" depth.

I'm currently installing about 100' of 6" SDR 35 for a drainage project. Mine is about 12" below grade to get my slope to work.

Some small portion will eventually have a driveway over it. I'm not worrying about the pipe from cars. You'll be fine, just make sure it is bedded and compacted well.

There are technical publications on bedding the pipe, minimum trench width, etc. They are very technical.

I agree on avoiding corrugated black pipe...
