Had a Bosch bulldog. Bought a Milwaukee setup with a hammer drill to consolidate what I carry. Have sds bits. Is it okay to use them in a non sds drill

I have used them a few times in a cordless non sds drill and the chuck never seemed to work correctly after that. I had to replace it.

SDS work so well and SDS drills are so inexpensive now, it makes no sense to me to ever try to use one in a hammer drill...

Get the Milwaukee SDS that goes with your set.

Hammerdrills **** big time....imo of course:)

I would try Home Depot

Guessing Lowes or Menards has something competitive.

As mentioned, an actual SDS rotary hammer probably works 20x faster than a "hammer drill"...
