Going to make a raised bed from 4x4s. Ran into rock. Used my big makita hm1214c to break it up. Can the chisel be saved or is it toast? Also the 10 gauge extension cord (50ft) has minor twists in it. It was an Amazon warehouse deal. I think it’s ok. Opinions. The cordless m18 1 3/4 rotary worked great with spade shovel bit but the rock was too much for it. Don't know if chisel can be saved or not but if you can't clean it up I'd probably try to grind it into a bull point. Not sure if grinding will affect hardness though.

If you have a bench grinder with cool wheels, the chisel can be saved if you want to bother, but it would take some time, so it might not be worth it.
3M Cubitron grinding or sanding wheels might also work, since the Cubitron supposedly grinds fairly cool.
For the extension cord, check to make dure all the connections are running properly whole shaking and manipulating the cord.
Then run a heavy load thru the cord to see it the cord warms up to the touch. If not, the cord is probably fine.
Most power cords have thicker cable than is used for house wiring, presumably due to possible extra fatigue that could cause the cable yo break down over time.

That cord is normal. The chisel can be sharpened with a flap disc and a grinder. Should take less than two minutes with the proper flap disc. I have a 6 X 48" belt sander I would use for that purpose since belt sanders don't heat up the metal as much as a a grinding wheel. A flap disc also has a cooling property a hard rock doesn't. Dunk the chisel in water if it gets hot to the touch. NO BIG DEAL.

Back when we still had a local blacksmith (he retired not quite a decade ago) we would just drop our breaker chisels in and the the guy would draw them out, re harden and temper the points for about £3 a chisel.
I guess we were really spoilt as it made the chisels last a very long time versus re grinding the edges.

I think that was shown in one of the episodes about building a Medieval Castle from this documentary series.

I'd definitely sharpen the chisel; I have 3 different size stationary belt sanders but would still probably do it with a flap wheel. The cord is fine.

Just grind it down and reshape it... use it till you can't use no more and convert it to a rod driver.
I use the hitachi or Dewalt brand chisels with the Hitachi sds max corded 12Gage 100' extension No issues... breaks boulders no problem. Bigger (huge) ones I have to use feather wedges. and used the Dewalt quad cutters for the holes. No issues.
