Seal for barrel door?

I've just finished the exterior of my new shop/garage and I opted for barrel doors rather than a sectional door. My reasoning was that even tho the sectional doors could be insulated they didn't fit nearly as tight as the barrel doors so I would have fewer drafts.

I was up in the new loft area today and realized there is a 1" gap at the top of the door. Does anyone make a gap filler for that?

I was thinking of some of those plastic strips.

The first pic is of the exterior from the front and the second is the interior framework.

There is a 12' x 16' room, full bath and a loft that extends fully across the front that is 16' x 34'

My doors came with a rubber seal that rivets across the top of the door. It gets rolled up into the door as u raise the door. And then it is supposed to pop out and seal the door. I thought about putting it on the building but as the door rolls up it gets bigger in dia. and fills in the gap.

So their is no real good way I have seen to seal the door. I hope some one else has a better idea.

I have a 10x10 door and have the same issue. I've ponder this and cannot come up with a good fix. I've considered some sort of hinged, spring loaded pop up door to fill the gap, but it gets too complex.

What I have concluded is this is caused by the roll up door getting smaller when it is down and larger when it is up. Most of these adjust in to out at the roll or barrel mounting and you want it as far out as you can get it with the door up. When down the gap appears. If the door were higher than the frame. say, an 11 ft high door on a 10 ft frame, the roll or barrel would be mounted higher and the track would be straight at the point where it passed the door frame/header and the gap would be constant, probably 1/4 inch or less. This of course, requires forsight to see this and order a properly sized door and also that you have the room to raise the door mounting that high.

I have this GADCO roll-up stlye door 10' wide 12' high block walls 14' high with the door track mounted directly to the block. I ran a bead of silicone along the door track to seal the small gap between the track and the block. They make a brush style weatherstrip that has a aluminum track that you mount to the door frame and the brush brisles fit up against the door. A rubber style will not work very good because of the corigated surface of the door the high spots hold the rubber seal away from the low spots. The brush style fits into the high and low spots very well. I used 1" long brushes for the sides and 2" long brushes for the top where the door gap was larger. measure the distance from the frame to the door then add a little to get to the next longer size brush. BTW my door is manual with the pull chain I have the metal slot type hook mounted on the wall to hook the chain in to hold the door open when I close the door if I pull the chain down tighter and hook it the drum will unroll the door a little more and close up that gap at the top.
