sealer for hard troweled floor

Hey guys i just had a floor poured a week ago it was powered troweled and is very smooth i was told i could seal it after 11-28 days , can any one recomend a product i could buy localy at a home store , epoxy is too pricey and id ruin it with the welder , some type of clear finish or paint my main concern is oil stains (porsches) THANKS in advance for your help

This is an old thread, but I too am looking for a low-cost sealer for a new concrete floor. My concrete guy suggested that wax-based sealers, such as Thompson's, just coat the surface and wear away quickly from traffic and general use. He recommended a penetrating sealer and said I could easily make my own using 50-50 mixture of linseed oil and kerosene. I'm thinking this would make the garage and everything in it smell like kerosene forever.

I've found lots of commercial sealing products that claim to be penetrating. Anyone have any suggestions? Wondering what the OP ended up doing.

the 'theory' of Thompsen's water seal is great. The product well Not so much.

My advice Go to a professional paint store, Sherwin Williams, etc.

They will have the same 'kind' of sealer only 100x better. IF the floor is NOT sealed with a previous sealer this will work just fine. If it IS sealed you have a larger job on your hands.
