How do you guys go about sealing a barn slide type door. The new house has a nice 12x12' barn slide door but it is not insulated or sealed and I can see sunlight. I live in pa and want that thing sealed nice and tight.

Sealing sliding barn doors is easy at the bottom and sides. The top can be a little tougher depending on the track system.

At the bottom, you attach a "blade" to the doors that fits into a groove.

At the sides, you install "fins" that stick out from the wall and the end of the door. These "fins" overlap when the door is closed (think sliding glass door).

At the top, the seal depends on whether the track is attached under the jam or on the outside wall above the jam. For tracks under the jam you install a "top fin" that fits against the track itself. For wall mounts you need a trim strip that fit tightly against inside of the door.

FWIW I live in a cabin with 8 exterior sliding barn doors that form the majority of two walls. So I've thought about this a bit :)
