Sealing a concrete basement floor??

Our current home is 60 years old and we have been in it the last 23. Our current basement floor appears to be sealed as it has a little sheen to the concrete and it's amazing easy to clean/sweep up.

Anyone have any idea what products were in fashion all those years ago?

What we have now has held up incredibly well with no signs of wear whatsoever.

Basement floors are generally troweled much slicker than concrete in garages because they don't normally get wet. A good concrete worker can make concrete shine by troweling it.

Most likely what they used 60 years ago can no longer be made! Unfortunately coatings from the past had lots of ingredients in them that were found to be harmful to the environment or health.

We carry several coatings that are safe to use indoors for basements, if you are looking to recoat, email directly with particulars. Thanks!
