Sealing gap between concrete pad and foundation

Hey everyone

So I have a small gap along the perimeter of my garage between the concrete pad and the 1 foot high concrete foundation. I understand this is normal since they were poured at separate times. I am talking about inside the garage.

The issue I am having is bugs are getting into my garage due to a bad garage door seal (this is a separate issue that I will fix) or if I have the OHD open at night. The little critters like to hide under bins/boxes and once I move something they scatter and hide in the gap between the floor and the foundation.

I would like to seal this gap so that they cannot hide in it. The pad has sunk maybe 1/8-1/4" over the past 12 years so I am pretty sure it has moved all its going to move. I see a bunch of different concrete crack filling adhesives at the big box stores but I am not sure if this is the correct stuff to use. Any recommendations? I would like to do porcelain tiles eventually (in a year or two) so something removable is ideal. Thanks!!

Just push some backer rod in the crack and you're done. You can caulk to make a seal if you wish, but I don't think it is necessary for your purposes. I don't know what you mean by "removable later" if you are going to tile. The tile should never touch the perimeter foundation nor should it be grouted at the perimeter. If tile, then a flexible joint should be used at the perimeter such as silicone caulk.

I had the same problem since building my house in 2011. It's funny that the spiders bother me more than my wife. I used Loctite PL S10 Polyurethane Concrete & Masonry Sealant when I painted my garage last November. I had up to a 1/4" gap between my floor and foundation. Primed and painted the foundation, then laid in the caulk. Holding up well so far.

I've used this stuff, I doubt you can get it at home Depot though like the Sika.. It's another option though.
