I made some custom c7 sockets connected to plugs using spt1 of varying lengths that I used for lighting up foam pumpkins this season. However, the ends technically have exposed wire from the snip after the crimp. I put some electrical tape on it, but is there a better way to terminate these so they are more foolproof electrically sealed (so a kid won't shock themselves if they remove the tape)?

I sometimes use Liquid Electrical Tape, it comes in a can and can also be used to cover the handles of tools. I bought it at Harbor Freight. Hot Melt Glue also works.
