Sealing the garage doors

Hello All,

Recently had these garage doors installed and have noticed lots of insects coming in. Further research revealed, 2 doors are not sealing the floor and all of them have gaps on the sides at the bottom where the rubber seal seems to have been cut bit short.

How do I go about fixing these or just have the guy come back and fix them?

Thanks

Get the installers to make it right. When they installed the seals, they cut them at the correct length, but over a short period of time, the seals will shrink some. when they install them the next time, tell them to leave the seal a little longer on each end. Also tell them to put a balloon seal on. This will insure that the seal at the end of the door (the few inches to a foot over) will properly seal tight against the floor all along the bottom.

I have more questions than answers.
Does the door bottom contact the floor anywhere across the bottom of the door?

Your picture only shows part of the one side. I can't tell by that if the door is lowering all the way or if you have a slab problem. Put a level on the slab and across the top or the door. This will tell you if the slab is out or the cables are different length. That bottom seal looks like it is from a lower priced door.

Picture 3 doesn't show if the side W/S is touching the ground or not. And yes vinyl will shrink over time. Is it making contact with the slab???

Picture 2 shows the bottom stand off bracket has room to be adjusted in to provide better contact between the seal and door. My guess that none of the brackets are adjusted properly. The whole reason they are there is for making adjustments for the wall and sealing the door. Many have bought hinges to help the door seal when all they needed to do was adjust the tracks. Cheaper doors do not use adjustable brackets. It only takes a couple of minutes to loosen the brackets bolts and adjust the door closer. I wait until everything else is done and the door is under power going up and down then adjust.

A couple questions need to be answered here for a full picture of what needs to be done.

If you're unhappy with the installation call them back, that's what the warranty is for! personally I would have never left them like that. If that was a retrofit they should have at least discussed options with you.

These are pretty expensive doors and yes I have made a call to the builder to have the door guy come back and fix the problems.

It is possible the slab might be bit out of level but I guess, an appropriate bottom seal should be able to fix that.

Thanks

I ran a length of clear 1/2" tube through the bottom seal to help with uneven floor issues. FWIW I just carried a mouse about 4" long by 2" thick out of the shop so good luck with sealing thing up very tight lol.
