Has anyone had experience with sealtek in the Midwest? They use penntek products and I am wondering if it's as good as advertised. Pretty much what I was told is it's installed in a day, can be used about 24 hours after install and is impervious to everything. Also with a price of $7 a sqft.
Is there a better solution to be had for the price, is the price competitive?

Hi,
Polyureas and polyaspartics generally are much thinner than 100% solids epoxy systems which take more than a day to install. Are they priming so the first layer doesn't soak in? How many gals of product are they using for the entire project? How many mils thick will this be? Often these offerings are more inexpensive flecks rather than coatings which is what gives the protection and life span.

While we carry these systems they are not our first choice unless time is a factor. $7 for a one day job seems high. We could sell you the materials for in the $2.00 per foot range.

Polyurea and polyapartic garage floor coatings are becoming more common by garage floor coating companies, particularly in areas of the country that get cold. They can be applied in colder weather which can provide year around work, one day application provides for greater profit margins due to lower labor costs, and they can be a benefit to the home owner who doesn't want to give up the use of their garage for more than a day. Traditional epoxy flooring systems require 3 to 4 days. We have an article which you can read here that talks more about what polyurea garage floor coatings are all about.

Most of these systems are only 2 coats. One coat of the base color (color flake optional) and one coat of clear. $7 seems high unless it includes another coat to add build. $5 to $6 is more the average though competition or lack there of can dictate higher or lower pricing.

The sealtek company was delayed as i had something come up. I did have another company come out and give me a quote my garage is 24x28 and the quote was 2400 for epoxy , and 2800 for aspartic. I was told it would be 10m, didnt mention gallons however.
