I have poured through the posts here as I plan to protect a 4 month old 2700 square foot slab for a personal workshop. Every time I feel like I have found the answer, I read another post or think of another aspect and my head spins, too many options, large swing in costs, limitations of some coatings that should not be ignored. Clearly I am searching for a Unicorn. I really like that there are "experts" that participate in the forum and from what I can tell do so very professionally. As a thought exercise I figured I would list out the primary factors I am considering and see what crowdsourcing yields (while I may want a Unicorn, I'm not expecting one)

Application - 2700 square feet of a working shop primarily used for building race cars and maintaining personal cars. I will be throwing sparks from metal fabrication, grinding and Mig welding. Plasma cutting will be limited to a cnc table with water trap

Traffic - primarily a 1 to 2 individuals, 3 to 6 days a week

Slab - 4000 psi fiber re-enforced was power troweled and concrete contractor used Euclid Diamond Clear Cure and Seal. Contractors erecting the building had some "leaky" equipment inside so some engine oil and/or hydraulic fluid spots will need to be dealt with.

Finish - I tend to like a nice clean and smooth grey floor over flakes, and definitely not a fan of bumpy flake floors that probably needed more topcoat

I have a couple small shrinkage cracks that it would be great if they disappeared as part of the finishing

This will be a DIY job that I will likely do solo so open time should be generous (I am willing to rent a grinder and do a diamond grind in prep)

Not against spending money on decent materials, just don't want to fall in the trap of "its expensive it must be good for my application"

Thoughts?

Lots of excellent coatings here. I would suggest our 3-coat Polyurea system or our full broadcast polyurea system. Legacy and Armorpoxy have very similar products as well.

Our system focuses on more material for a better build. and Polyurea all the way through.

2700 sq feet is a lot to spend and find out you don't like something. I'd find two different systems and order some samples.

This is the environment that our full ceramic CFLC System is designed for... keeping in mind that in a true work environment over time chit happens and at some point re-coating or repairs may be desirable, this two coat system is super easy to touch up or re-coat as there is no clear coat to mess with. It also cuts down the application time significantly. Shoot me a DM for more info.

We have easy solution for this, we would recommend our Armorpoxy II, 2 layer Job on Pallet kit. This is what the Coast Guard specifies in many of their hangars.
