Search window text entry problem iphone 5 safari

When typing text into the forum search window on an iphone 5 using safari, I am only able to enter one character at a time before the window disappears. Then when i select search the window pops up and I can add another character... Oddly, I just had it happen on another forum. They likely use the same software. Does anyone else have this problem?

I just checked, it happens in chrome too!

Mine does the same thing. Try using "advanced search".

Thanks Mtwaterguy. Advanced search seems to work. I wonder what the underlying problem is?
