One question - why is the catalog's web page titled "Big Kid - Tests"?? LOL!

Anyhow, holy oh-my-I-can-feel-my-wallet-getting-lighter-already, Batman!

I spent once a week for the past month trying to find the catalog online. I even tried to guess the URL based off of last years' catalog last night! To my joy, the catalog arrived in my mail box today!

There are a few things to be excited over, such as new made-in-USA woodworking tools, and a few things to frown over, such as high prices on certain tools.

But right now, I'm in a great mood. I suppose I should start saving!

Oh yea, my catalog came with a FREE Geico advertisement. The last four mailed catalogs had the same or a similar postcard advertisement, so why should this one be any different.

Why do I not get these ever? I have bought a couple sets of thin profile off the web, a couple other sets in store, and am a C-man member, yet never get the catalogs or mailings... I guess speding about $500 over 2 years isn't worth the couple bucks to print and ship to me.

Huh...nothing really blew my skirt up, except a couple the aforementioned woodworking tools.
I saw a few of those too. Made in the USA, and competetively priced!

It might be based on location? Don't know. I get catalogs (but not Craftsman Club flyers) at my address and my parents' address in my name.

wonder if the Wera cyclops will ever be a sale item
Probably not since it'll likely be online-only. I'd say that the most one could expect is 10-15% off, but with tax and shipping, it's quite a bit more costly than via the handful of other US retailers selling the Zyklop.

A few years ago Sears quit sending me their sale fliers. When I inquired about it they said I wasn't spending enough money with them. Then a little further down the road they cancelled my Sears credit card for the same reason. I went into the store to buy some tools and they told me my credit card was no longer valid. When I asked why, it was because I wasn't spending enough money so they cancelled it.

They asked if I would like to open a new account. I told them I would buy my tools somewhere else.

I never understood their mentality. No Craftsman Club flyers for me, despite all I spend, yet they send four or more full catalogs per year. My local store still receives (or used to receive) a large stack of Club flyers that they'd keep in the back. Only once, about two years ago, were they on display where customers can take one.

Oh well. Now I just check the flyer online and spend less because of it. There's something about printed catalogs that prompt me to spend more money.

They have actually done studies on it, and there is a psychological principle behind why print leads to more sales. It has to do with the sense of "ownership" that holding the flier envokes, which makes you more prone to actually then go out and buy the item. As well, a print image stimulates the brain differently than an image on a computer screen.

Every year it matters a bit less than it did the year before. The catalogs and their offerings get poorer with each passing year. Real pity. Course, by the time Sears is gone, (and they will be) no one will give a rats ***!

Their catalog is good bathroom reading material. I have been reading the same S&W catalog for 6 months, I have it nearly memorized.

Thanks for sharing. I know there is a love-hate relationship with Sears for a lot of people but, I still like browsing the Holiday tool catalog even online. It was pretty good actually. There were some interesting items such as that Zyklop set, Wera screwdrivers, Craftsman 1/4 drive impact sockets, Grip on pliers, and Extra Long Craftsman pro screwdrivers. Now, let's see how big of sales they'll have.

All I got to say about Sears is where else can you go and get made in the usa tools for as cheap and with as good of warranty. SOME of there stuff isnt that great but its still better than 90% of the **** in box stores. I just wish Sears would offer more things such as the thin pro ratchets in long handle flex head with a comfort grip or extra long combo wrenchs etc...etc..but they're the best tools for the price and a person can just walk in.

more reason to distrust these fuckers.

Sorry, this pisses me OFF.

They reintroduce the dog bones, and prepopulate (by a month) their web site with reviews

http://www.craftsman.com/shc/s/p_10155_12602_00914277000P?mv=rr

"I got my dog bone before father’s day. I’ve never seen any thing like this before and when my buddies come over to knock down a few I love to show off new tools that no one else has. This tool saves time in that I have all the tools I need when I’m under "

wth - those dogbones *just* came out, right?

They were selling the same tool under the Thorsen name earlier this year. The review may be based on that.

If you go to http://www.mysears.com/ you can see lots of negative product reviews and also generally negative reviews of Sears and Sears stores. You can even start thread about what you think of Sears. Hopefully they are using this to fix some of their problems.

http://www.mysears.com/Craftsman-3-ton-Hydraulic-Jack-reviews is not a company that is faking reviews!

What irks me is that in several places, I see a "Craftsman Innovation" headline in reference to a non-original rebadged tool.

I got another mailing today.

I wonder why Sears keeps sending the same flyer with different covers, oh wait, maybe it's because there are Geico and DirecTV postcard advertisements inside. *Waves fist at Sears' neglect for the environment."
