Didn't everyone grab up the last of the MUSA sets when this was the same price back on Black Friday?

These were on sale last Black Friday for that price. All of the Black Friday stock (pallets of them) in the stores and all the online where Made in China.

The only way to get a made in the USA set was to not get one from the pallets of Black Friday stuff in the center isles. You had to go over to the regular tool section, then look in the back of the rack, and might get lucky and find a lone remaining, dusty, new old stock USA.

I went to three Sears stores on Black Friday, and did manage to find a single old stock USA version.

There may be some USA versions floating around, but after Black Friday I'm thinking most of the old stock USA was bought up.

P.S. You can quickly scan to identify the USA. The China boxes are more squared off around the edges, more of dark black plastic box, and have a flip latch to close. The USA boxes are more rounded off around the edges, more of a grey plastic box, and have a slide latch to close.

I just got the lone remaining USA version from a local store. Three on the peg, front 2 China, back one USA.

Gave me the online price.

The ratchet is what it is, but to me the sockets look real nice and seem like they will hold up to my DIY level use.

Thanks OP, steal of a deal.

Yea I got one of the last USA made ones on Black Friday, the second store I visited had the last one on the shelf sitting there like if someone left it behind. I snapped a 5mm allen bit, guess I over torqued it. Had to order one with free SYW points I had, they normally don't carry it on hand. The new socket was USA version, guess most single pieces are still made in the USA for now.

The odds of finding a USA set are pretty slim at this point. I would look for one if I didn't already have all those pieces but in their own 7pc sets. All USA and bought many years ago. They have held up pretty well.

I read a bunch of reviews where people complained how crappy that set is. From memory, I think it used to be good but now the tips are soft. So the overall score is good on sears but recent experience not so much.

I believe the same holds true for this Craftsman set (USA version). And looking at the previous post, the Chinese set is the same.

I think it is overall cheapness. China and USA.

I snapped a couple of the Craftsman Industrial (USA) tips, from the socket rail sets of Industrials. And snapped the USA versions from this set. I think the actual socket part is good quality, but they insert a cheap tip into the socket, and they snap easy.

I always put on safety glasses every time I use them, because I've snapped several and pieces go flying.

I don't think there are many USA sets left. I tried during the holidays to find a USA set when this deal was on and couldn't. Oh and the Lisle kit is a nightmare, would not suggest it.

When it comes to torx, it's more than just COO. I have an old USA Kobalt set that is awful. You have to go quality, which comes at a price.

I think if you grabbed one off the Sears Website, then you definitely grabbed a China set.

The only way to get USA, is to go into the local stores and hunt for them.

Like anything there are some people who get duds or don't like things and others who like the product. I have some loose Lisle torx and they work fine.

For $15 it's a great deal. It includes the t60 which a lot of sets I found don't.

Yeah I ordered online. It only cost me $20 after surprise points so I figured it was worth a shot.

The ratchet in it is truely awful, the rest didnt look too bad though. Ill probably replace it with a USA if I can find one in stores but for a beater set in a box its pretty good.
