Damnit. I was just about to go to Sears with my whole family after dinner.

My local Sears cut it off today saying they have to be "original" coupons, not print-offs. They would not accept them and I did not want to get in too big of an argument. They said they were for Craftsman Club members (which I am) and they had to be the ones from the mail. They showed me some e-mail from their brass to that effect.

This is not the same coupon. This was also from an email, with a link to the sears website. I would suggest taking a screenshot of the site with coupon on the screen and bringing color printouts, that's what I have been doing.

The link in the second post on this thread no longe works, so I can't get the screen shot. I have the .pdf copy saved, but that's what they keep saying I can't use.

Yea, dunno what to say if that one doesn't work for you... thats the exact address I typed in to get there myself, not even copied/pasted in to this thread.

Can't make it work in Internet Explorer but it works in Firefox. I'm guessing I have a cookie issue with IE7.

Just got done abusing many Sears stores.

Went to 2 "Sears Department stores", 1 K-Mart, 1 Sears Parts centers, 2 "Sears Hardware stores" and 2 "Sears essentials". Printed off 12 coupons from the pdf this morning.

Never tried to use the Coupon at more than 1 register at a time, but used all twelve up.

Only problem I had was at the Sears Parts center where the manager told me the coupon was usable. I saw a box of Scott shop towels in a box marked from $8 down to $6. So I grabbed it and went to pay and the manager, who was also working the register, said I would need to spend $40 to use the coupon. I argued with her that the coupon said $5 but she wouldnt budge. I walked out figuring the shop towels were not "tools or lawn and garden" so I did not have much argument anyhow.

Overall it was a good beating as I stuck to only buying 1 item at a time including many individual large sockets, box end ratcheting wrench sets in metric and standard, that much revered 3 piece pry bar set, a stanley 25 foot tape measure/utility knife combo, and a Klein 5 way screwdriver for work.

Overall it was a nice day:beer: Hope all of you have the same luck.

Who knows I may try again tommorrow.

BTW, the Kmart by me does not have near as much selection as the Sears Department stores or Sears Hardware has. However Sears Essentials has a real nice selection.

Glad to hear they worked for you. I will be trying them again in about 15 mins or so. I hope they work long enough for me to fill in my sockets.

I just tried it in 2 stores and they worked. Got 2 - 6 point deep sockets.

It seems as though it's not scanning, so the workers have to enter it manually.

You have the original email or link?

We are almost all Craftsman club members, has anyone gotten one of these coupons?

I have a pocketful just in case.

If they refuse it, I am thinking of asking them to produce a coupon that isn't printed the same as mine is.

I haven't gotten anything in the mail from my membership but the card.

The people in my local store had never seen the coupons. I'll do the screenshot next time.

I got the full set of flex sockets so far (3.30 ea) and now will go back for more regular sockets, wrenches and screwdrivers.

Going in about an hour, just checked my sockets, and lets just say the bulb wasn't glowing brightly when I bought the 3/$10 ones, 12mm, 14mm, dumb sizes.

Man that coupon worked great for me! I really appreciate that tip about buying a carpenters pencil if you need to round something up. I printed 10 coupons and bought 10 items with 10 checks! I had no problems, it worked like a charm.

I took ten tickets and ten items to my guy and told him I wanted to use one coupon per transaction so he rung up ten individual transactions at the same register and it worked like a charm! No sweat, no strain, my Sears guys are great, we are on a first name basis!

I just got all the 1/4 drive flex sockets in standard and metric, some hex sockets, some other misc sockets, some screwdrivers, 6 point wrenches, and a bunch of stubby wrenches. I used 30 coupons all at the same time. I went at 9:30pm and the store was pretty much dead so the person rang my stuff up one at a time with no problems.

http://www.sears.com/ue/home/5Offcoupon.pdf

Is what I have used.

I was all set with some coupons with my wife, some with my son, but I handed him my first one and he knocked $5 off the price (register ticket says multi discount), handed me back the coupon and said knock yourself out and they should be good til the 22nd so maybe wait for after xmas sales. Bad news was this little Sears was seriously picked over, I only found 3 flex sockets in sizes I could use, 3/8 drive 15, 17, and 19mm.

Two other local stores have twice as large tool depts, but I am not going to make a special drive if it looks like they might stay good even another few days post xmas.

I went down to fill in a few missing spots in the cabinet....stuff I really don't need, but hell, for $2-3 per socket instead of $7-8 is a deal in my book. (we're talking deep 3/8" or 1/2" large sockets here. So I grab everything I can find that I don't already have around 4 or so, walk up to the register and pay, no problem. Head over to where my wife and mother were standing and ask them to do the same. They attempt to walk back over and perform the same task, and some old grumpy manager at the tool desk says, " this coupon is not legit, someone scanned it and put it online and it's a fake" to them, so they walk away not knowing I downloaded it from the Sears website, so I just mutter 'screw this' under my breath and walk over to housewares, and then the womens departments and make the purchases without any problems. Wished I llived somewhere near the rest of you guys where I could make the bulk purchases like you did.

I guess I'll have to wait till next year to see about some flex head sockets....

This was in Glen Allen, VA just north of Richmond.

What an idiot? He just lost commission on those sales. I bring with a paper with the URL of the coupon just in case I get one of those types. Sears.com has it on a public website. I'm sure some lawyer could find that as false advertising.

I agree....he was just being a scrooge....

I got what I wanted....next time I'll just steer clear of him with my coupons...

Let's say you go to the mall store, can you just take the tools out of the department and go anywhere in Sears you want to have them ring them up?

Coupon would not scan at Kmart today, but they rang it up anyways as a manufacturers coupon. Of course I was sweating bullets when they had to call a supervisor over to make it happen.

Whats the most expensive thing anybody has used the coupon on yet? I'm buying the set of metric combo ignition wrenches today I think, $15.99, other than that my max is about $12 so far.

Each time I come home I think of a new batch of stuff, like filling in all the smaller sizes of 6 pt combo wrenches from the 145 pc set (only goes down to 3/8 and 11mm).

Haha, you get all the bad luck with this coupon. Everyone else is ringing up 120 at a time no problem. As for the most expensive item, nothing over an additional $2.05 for me.:bounce:

Used three more today to fill in a few sizes of wrenches. The ones at the tool department register and lawn and garden wouldn't scan but they plugged the number in from the bottom of the coupon and it went through. Took the third one to housewears because by that time there were 40 people (or so it seemed) at the second tools register. They had to call a manager to confirm, but it went through too.

Danglerb, I'd think they'd have less problems on more expensive items. I mean, a six dollar wrench is $1 after the coupon. For a $20 item you're only getting a 25% discount. For a $50 item you're getting a 10% discount...

You are full of ****. Both PUBLIC Sears.com webpages contain the same bar code on the coupon. All coupons of the same type have the same bar code. Just like the sale two weeks ago. On the back of every sale ad had a coupon for something like $5 off a purchase of $25 on tools. All had the same bar code. Also from two weeks ago, the registers were printing receipts with a coupon on them good for $5 off of $20 or purchase of tools on 12/22/2007 only. I have two of them and both have the exact same bar code on the bottom. You must have got caught up in something else and tried to get off by saying this is an illegal scam. Which is still BS because I don't think Sears even prosecutes shoplifters.

Anyways, worst case if someone "created" this coupon and embedded it on Sears.com all Sears would have to do is deactivate the bar code.

Such an ***.

The coupon is shown on THEIR website. THEIR computer is programed to ACCEPT their coupon and it does. I mean 1) take it off their website and 2) deactivate it in the stupid computer. This is just pathetic.

I plan on using it until expiration.

look i am not going to argue about it anymore i spent 2 ******* hours in the upstairs "lost prevention" office, with my 4 year old being asked alot of questions by both sears and the wyomissing police the coupons are fake you guys can do what you want. i know what happened to me
a real coupon does not give the same upc coads every coupon is numbered they track them how many printed how many used, a real coupon is emailed or mailed to you not just hanging on a website.
any you guys dont beleive me then if your in the reading pa go to the berkshire mall sears and use one....
