Those pry bars are always on sale for 20$. Id guess its safe to assume sears makes a hefty markup on them, or they are a loss-leader for them.

Thanks for the heads up, Im gunna pick up a couple pairs of gloves. I try to avoid spending 20$ on them if possible

The funny thing about the pry bars is that they were 19.99 on Black Friday, then went to 24.99 on Saturday, and the on Sunday went on sale for the next 2 weeks for 19.99.

Glad I didnt buy em on Saturday!!!

yeah!! I noticed that as well. I didn't order them on BF because I figured they'd be on sale for a while, then when I checked on Saturday and saw they went to $24.99, I was mad... I thought about ordering, but then decided to wait, then they put them back to $19.99 on Sunday.......So I bought some.

I know they seem to go on sale for $19.99 fairly often, but never when I need them or see the sale!!

Maybe someone figured out that the more pry bars they sell, the fewer screwdrivers come back.

On second thought, that may be giving them far too much credit:lol_hitti

I have a cheap set of screwdrivers that ends up being used to pry things, but not anymore!!!

That cheap set is still around, and there is a small bend in the largest flat blade driver.......victim of a frozen idler arm on my tractor cutting deck. Now if it happens again I have pry bars!!

Once you use a screwdriver as a pry bar it never works right as a chisel again. ;)

I've seen them once on sale during the Cman club days. The only difference is that the handle has a striking cap. I know of many on this board who have pounded away on the standard red handles with nary a problem. They're also backed up by the forever warranty, so just get the standard pry bar set.

I almost bought the shop cart today. ( I exercised self control, I have an anniversary gift to buy my wife) but for $39.99 it didn't seem that bad. It was sturdier then the HF one I saw the other day. I wouldn't stand on it but it shouldhave no problem toting around some tools.

I don't like it. The light is very, very dim and makes the magnet part a bit bulky. I regret not getting a regular magnetic pick-up tool and coupling it with a flashlight.

does the magnet stick to the sides, or is it 'shielded' in some way?

The outside is made of aluminum or some sort of alloy. It won't stick with the sides. Most if not all of the Cman pickups that I've seen are like this.

They're out of the prybars at the 3 locations nearest me. I just bought a 12" and 36" S-O striking pry bar too!. But I'd love a set of those Craftsman. The only difference between them and the Pro-version is the endcap?

How would you compare them to more expensive versions?

I also use Vaughan and Eastwing at work and have really like them a lot.

Those ratcheting wrenches are nice. I have a metric set of the Craftsman Professional reversible ones that I got for Christmas one year which are the same thing as the Gearwrench ones. I just picked up the SAE GW ones today.

You know I asked today if I could get 50% off items they had to order, the one I was looking at was the 14 pc flex GW set (7 SAE, 7 metric). its listed as catalog/online only on the website, they say that means it wont give the 50% off.....Im wondering if I should go back and check ?

I bought the magnetic tray today for $7.49 plus the local sales tax. I bought the bowl about 2 weeks go when it was on sale. Both are made in China but what are you going to do? They are handy.

Sears site said the tray was out of stock, that none of the 3 local stores had it, and that I could not order it. So I went to the closest store this morning 2 miles away and there were about 10 on the shelf.

Going to fill them with cat food and milk, and then go for a ride....

I can tell you from experience that the rectangular one will stay stuck on a kart frame at about 75 mph. :)

Those magnetic trays sure look a lot like the ones I get at HF for $2 on sale.

I was at Sears yesterday and wanted to get one of those trays, but something about it made me hesitate. The tray was listed OOS locally online, but in-store they had at least a dozen, if not more in the holiday shopper trap at the front of the store.

The Craftsman ones smell better and their magnets don't separate from the tray as easy. There's a certain smell common in Harbor Freight stores. I always thought it was from shipping the stuff in sealed containers but, they could use some fabreeze.

Thanks for the heads up on the great deals for Gearwrench. I bought the 8 pc. stubby SAE and 8 pc. stubby metric wrenches along with the 56 pc. ratcheting screwdriver today and walked out spending just over $80. The only problem with the Gearwrench sale is it isn't on all Gearwrench tools. I was hoping to pick up the round head roto ratchet but it wasn't on sale.

Just be patient on the rotoratchets. I got mine a month or two ago for 30% off and free shipping. There is no rhyme or reason as to what Gearwrench stuff Sears applies the sale to. One time ratchets are included with the wrenches, the next time they're not. The sales and free shipping or in store pick up are worth the wait considering Gearwrench regular pricing at Sears is expensive.:wtf:

I saw those magnetic bowls too. I just bought two of the really large ones off the S-O truck a week or two ago, for the same price as full retail at Sears.

Although sears.com listed my local as not having the prybars for $19.99, a visit to the store this evening proved otherwise. Picked them up! And a tool bag ($4.99) as a gift for one of my boys.

I too am waiting on a Roto Ratchet and hemostats sale! Don't worry, if I spot a sale, I'll mention it as soon as my order is placed.

Unfortunately, while the $60 roto ratchet set is available in-store, the $50 identical set isn't available at all.

Oh well, I guess it's my fault for hesitating during the last 30% off sale.

Just when I thought Sears was overpriced on Gearwrench stuff, I noticed when looking through the new toolwarehouse catalog that they want $66 for the rotoratchet set and over $50 for the double x hemostat set. I was wrong to accuse Sears of being over priced. I guess the recent 30% off sale was better than I originally thought. I hoped other vendors would be cheaper. I guess I was wrong again.:(
