Can't believe they think it will pay off to have employees being paid time & a half for working on Thanksgiving.

Only thing that caught my eye was the Craftsman rolling stoage seat that was just released. Has been mostly priced in the high $60's so far, but is $60 on BF.

only other notable to me, is the text Turkey to 73277, starting 11/11 for $10 in Freecash. good til 11/25

the 2nd half of the ad is listed as a 4 day thanksgiving event and not a black friday special--does anyone know if they will price match a recent purchase during that time?

I bought that seat during the F&F sale. Figured for sure it would be fifty on black Friday.

These are pretty decent prices

$3 tool bag
$10 meter (nice to have a spare one at times)
$25 17 piece screwdriver set

Not a good time for Sears to be so jolly. Went to Sears today which is the only one surviving for now. Store was extremely well-stocked. They seems to have taken inventory from other nearby stores which recently shut down. I wish them luck on the rest of their journey. Its upsetting that their beloved Craftsman (acetone smelling) screwdrivers are Made in China and no longer made by Western Forge (WF)

A friend bought that meter for $10 just last month.

That $25 screwdriver set in the ad looks like the USA set that was $20 during past holidays. As mentioned above, keep in mind the manufacturer has changed for the classic Craftsman screwdrivers.

It really comes down to how knowledgeable the customer service agent is about their policies.

"Price Protection Policy

Buy with confidence from Sears. If an item you have purchased from Sears goes on sale for a lower price within 30 days of your purchase, Sears will refund the difference. All Price Match rules and exclusions apply including no Price Protection adjustments between Thanksgiving Day and the Wednesday after Thanksgiving. Sears will not offer a price adjustment on items that include individual Shop Your Way bonus or extra point offers."

I went to the one that is closing near me on Sunday. LONG lines, many empty shelves, and only decent pricing. Things were marked 40-80% off, but it sure didn’t seem like it. I won’t be back.

My local sears will have none of this in stock, and that is fine. Why people are still giving money to this sinking ship is beyond me.

How do you like the seat? I may keep an eye out for it to go lower if it seems like a nice unit.

The Made-in-the-USA Midwest offset aviation snips listed in the 4 day section are fantastic. The offset gets your hand out of the path of the metal you're cutting, and the blades keep their edge for a long time.

I used non-offset snips for years (I have Ridgid, Evolve, and HF). None have been used since I got the Midwest offsets.

They usually run about $40 shipped for the pair from most stores, so for $24.99 minus points/freecash, I'd be all over them if I didn't already have some.

Will have to look into those. Thanks

Are those ride on mowers any good?

I didn't even look at the ad, but I'll offer my opinion on Craftsman lawn mowers in general. They are the exact same thing that you can buy at Lowes or Home Depot. They are all made my MTD-Electrolux. I sold mowers at Sears in the early 2000's. The more you spend, the better they are.. better motor, heavier gauge deck, anti-scalp wheels, electric blade clutch, better spindles, etc. The sub $1,000 riding mowers are to meet a price point... they are throw away machines, and the $3,000 ones aren't that much better.

If I were in the market for a riding lawn mower, I'd buy a quality dealer sold John Deere, Toro, Cub Cadet, etc. at an auction or estate sale. They will cost you about the same but you will be getting so much more. I could have bought a super nice 54" John Deere (real one, not big box store one) with 100 hours on it for less than $4,000 last year at an estate sale. If only I had a need for one then... I've seen several good used JD's sell for $600 to $800 at sales... such a better machine than a new $800 Craftsman.

600 cashback on 600 in tires is probably the deal if you need that much from Sears and run ~600 sets of tires.

Too bad it is $25 a week for 24 weeks... I put the odds of sears actually going under in that period as pretty good. Granted if you can get $1-200 back still not bad.

Those $4 flashlight is very useful imo. Too bad they do not have these at the local hometown store.

The Sears I went to is closing. I went to replace some of the gear wrench stuff that had been lost over the years. I could have bought it cheaper from Napa.

I have it... it's fine... no complaints. It periodically goes on sale for $50 throughout the year... so if you miss it this time, you might catch it later (depending how long Sears sticks around).

Assuming it's available in-store near you and you're willing to deal with the Black Friday crowds, you could add a small filler item and do the "Spend $50, Get $50 Back" deal. You get the points 11/27... so that's a much safer bet than the other "Spend $250, Get $250 Back" deal... which is $25/week for 10 weeks.

The $50 back expires in a week, though... so it's a good idea to pick out something to use them on ahead of time.

Thanks, Do I automatically get the 50.00 with my SYW card or do I download something ahead of time ? I usually go to Pep Boys on Black Friday for their sale (Motor Oil) and Sears is nearby.

You'll need your SYW card/number when you purchase... and you'll need to spend $50 out-of-pocket so you'll need to add a small filler. These are what I typically toss in to get to a minimum:

https://www.sears.com/cm-3-4-clamp-micro-spring/p-00931495000P
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-4-way-screwdriver/p-00904160000P
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-best-carpenter-pencil/p-00937591000P
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-1-in-spring-clamp/p-00931491000P

I think it said the points expire 7 days after getting them... so have something picked out to buy so you don't lose them.

The 2 piece Midwest snips were 24.99 today in store, same as Black Friday. The craftsman snips were on sale too but I don't remember the price. They are USA too, anyone know who makes them?
