Looks like the sale is over for the 204. The $412 price is from ToolKing. The Sears price is back up to $609.

I don't claim to be a vise expert, but there are a couple measurements. Jaw size, Opening Size, etc. Bigger would seem better, but there are other factors, like clamping force, ductile PSI of the metal, etc.

Yost and Wilton make some very nice vises. Keep your eye out for some deals on Black Friday, but if you want a quality vise stay away from the Chinese ones.

The yost 203 or 204 are both excellent choices and if you can score one of them for somewhere between $200-$300 you'll have a residential vise that will last just about forever.

This deal came up with another seller maybe 2 years ago. I was just looking back and I got the 206 for $299!
