My local sears has the Craftsman 7 pc. T-Handle Nut Driver Sets on clearance for $9.97. Both Metric and Sae (SEARS Niagara Falls NY)

Picked up a set of each tonight, Seem like good quality and made in USA.

Thanks! Here in Austin, TX they were marked as $24.97 on the shelf but when they were scanned they came up as $9.97. Picked up both sets...good deal.

I printed OP original post and took it to Sears #1 for price match....Manager said no due to being on clearance at OP store. Went to Sears #2, employee called OP's store for price check, received price match. Thanks again OP and Tony at Sears #2.

When it comes to certain tools you don't necessarily need them.... you just need to have them. No justification needed.

T handle and an extension.

Don't need these at all. But as someone else said...if you're really drunk you'll reach for the color coded tools because they're easy to spot. Oh wait he didn't say that I did.

With a t-handle you get better torque on fasteners plus they're easier to hammer. With bolts? Not sure where you'd have clearance to use these on a car. Hex t-handles are definitely something to have for socket caps.

Yeah but...10 bucks. 10 bucks is a very nice price and these are well built. Checked them out in store today and surprise they were full price (40 bucks). Not a nut driver guy anyway but use them for house stuff sometimes.

I understand the purpose of nut drivers (and use'em when advantageous) but what does the 't-handle' bring to the party.... other than increasing one's tool count?

for me, the T-handle gives the absolute best torque control on the small nut's and bolts they are used on. You can get them to torque perfect every time.

T-handle with separate socket does not give this.

I would not have been shocked if he declined, just glad he accepted!

For those that got it for $9.97 of the SAE and Metric set, if you post a scan of your receipt here, it'll help the rest GJers. You can sharpie out the sensitive info like card # etc. thx.

They were listed on the shelf at a local store (Memphis area) for $35, their price checker came up with $9.97.

I didn't get them only because many times I'm using nut drivers in confined locations and obviously the T handle precludes that.

Well went in again today. I was told they don't price match clearance. I asked why certain stores had them on clearance and was given some BS about each store's inventory being their own (owned by the store).

So they still have the SAE marked down and now marked as "Clearance" on the shelf. However the Metric is still $37.98.

Ha, I just got the metric set on clearance and the SAE set was still $37. Fine by me, I rarely use SAE.

They did have about 4x more metric sets than SAE, lends some credibility to what they told you about it being tied to each store's inventory.
