I have quite a few Sears Craftsman C3 tools. Most of my ni-cad battery's are shot. From now on am upgrading with Milwaukee for cordless tools but can't see getting rid of the Craftsman C3's that I have for the occasional use that I use them for (not an everyday thing but needed for projects).

I was able to find a new C3 drill kit with the charger and battery at a very low price so I grabbed it (couldn't buy a charger and battery for the price). Looking to see how the lithium ion XCP battery's hold up?? Considering getting another XCP battery as a spare. The XCP that came with the kit is the smaller 1.5 amp hour battery.

Thanks for any info.

I have 3 lithium batteries for my c3’s. The old batteries are completely shot and theyve never really been used. the lithium ones ive had for about 6 years now and they havent given me any issues. have a 19.2 cordless impact c3 and can break torque on my 8 lug truck on all 32 lugnuts and run them back on on the same battery. only complaint i have is the over heat cut out that either the drills or the batteries have, seems to happen quicker than they used to.

Thanks. The lithium ion batteries don't develop a memory is that correct (so I can keep them in a state of charge after using them)?

I have not read to many good reviews on the non oem replacement batteries. The larger Craftsman 4.0 amp hour battery's are crazy money and hard to find.

Wow, that's great. Mine even new (with new ni-cad battery) would never do that. My C3 impact worked decent when battery was new but sadly would only do 2 lug nuts recently. It will be a great spare with the XCP battery. My Milwaukee Fuel 1/2" impact takes care of the heavy lifting now w/o a problem.

The C3 tools are fine, hoping the lithium ion battery gives them new life.

Make sure to avoid letting the charge drop and stay at zero for too long.

After One World (TTI) tried to stop supplying Sears in 2017, I bought a XCP battery on sale as a spare. Recently pulled it out of storage, but can't get it to charge. I know it worked when I first bought it, so now I need to find time to jerry-rig something to boost the battery.

Is One World (TTI) the company that supplied the C3 battery's? I was trying to find out who the supplier was a while ago. Not that it matters now I guess. The majority of my hand tools are Craftsman from the late 70's, 80's and early 90's. Sears was literally just up the road. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think Sears would ever go away or sell of their brand. Sad.
