From an expired eBay auction...

This is a rare Sears Craftsman Industrial reciprocating saw made by Black & Decker. Why do I say rare? This particular example is similar to the B&D Quantum reciprocating saw as there is no closed-loop handle, but unlike the Quantum this is a variable-speed unit.

Model is 900.271200. I wonder if you ever saw this back in the '90s, or if you have ever owned this.

Ben:

I just picked one up at a garage sale. It is barely used and still in the original box. Too bad the instruction manual is missing. It seems pretty well built and is a lot lighter than a Sawzall. For $10 I figured it was worth it.

Tool_Scrounge: I know your post was a long time ago - this is my first - and I presume you have long since acquired a manual for the saw, or even moved on to newer technology. But in the off-chance you're still wishing for the manual, I have it (and the saw - have had for a very long time now), and could scan to .pdf if you so desired.

The saw, as you've surely discovered, is rather straight-forward, and to most tool-savvy users, operation of this machine does not incorporate quantum mechanics. All the same, I like the documentation, and have 3-ring binders going back to, well, a long time. Just saying.

Welcome to the forum and good first post. Usually zombie threads are brought back to life by someone looking for something from the original posters. Here you're doing the opposite and offer something.
