Sears Craftsmman Circular saw help

I recently picked up an older Craftsman 2hp, 7-1/4" circular saw at a garage sale. It appears to be a model # 135.108000. The saw was in good shape for its age. The cord was looking rough and it needed a good going over. So I proceeded to dissassemble it to replace the cord and clean it up.

Fast forward a few days and I've started putting it back together. Everything went back together fine except for one part. The spring that keeps tension on the retactable gaurd. I am unsure as to how it was attatched. Of course, I didn't take a reference shot beforehand either.

There are two holes on the retractable guard. One near the edge and one closr to the center. There is another hole on the stationary guard behind the hole on the front side. I beleive that the spring goes between the hole on the stationary guard and the one near the center judg8ng by the wear marks. Is this correct?

So if anyone out there has one of these saws I could use a little help getting the spring attatched properly.

I think that is correct. You can see a dark spot near that center hole. Almost seems like something (the spring) rubbed a dark spot.

This saw is made by Skil because of the 135 mfr. code. The date code embossed on the nameplate is "H2214" in which the Julian format code translates to a mfg. date of August 2, 1982. Equivalent Skil circular saws made during that same date would carry the date code "HJV."
